Oh it was a quarter of ups and downs. DS8 is improving, DS9 is over the moon (HONORS!! Well if we had honors in the lower grades) and DS13 is PO'ed at himself.

Good for DS8 for improving! Congrats DS9 - they should have Honors for all grades. Sorry DS13 is down on himself. I'm sure he'll do better next grading cycle.

Sometimes I forget I have all of that stuff to look forward to . . . but several years before I get there :upsidedow

I had a meeting with the principal for DS8 about his future at Blink Elementary. It was a rough day but I won't bore you with the details.

And DS13 didn't really care about the grades first quarter so him being mad is a good thing. My dad came over to talk to him too.

Great job for all the Blink Princes.pirate:

DS8 went from an F in Spelling to a B-!!!!!!!
Lisa, he went up in everything but math and science!! I'm so proud of him and so ticked at his teacher. We had a huge HUGE argument before Vacation and it didn't end well. (DH yelled at her, and you know how he is when he gets mad!)

Yikes! Sorry you are having to deal with that - and with your DH out of town.

My sister's middle child was having a lot of problems at his middle school (first year in middle school; 6th grade). He has Asperger's Syndrome and rage issues and was getting into a lot of fights. His guidance counselor took him aside and told him it would be best if he could be home schooled - she told HIM before she even called his MOM :scared1: Anyway, thanks to his grandmother he started at a private school last week and it seems to be going well so far. There are only 16 kids in the 6th grade and they want to be there and want to learn, like he does, so he should fit in better. There are other kids there with Asperger's too, even though it's not a school aimed at kids who have Autism. He's a good kid and I really want to see him succeed at this school.

DS8 stopped caring when his second grade teacher told him on front of the class that he was not going on to third (this was in early Dec.) I went off on her in a big way.

She was one that would target one child every year and it made her mad that she didn't get a reaction from DS8. The other kids would hit, kick, puke, etc. DS built a wall.

Oh, that must have been UUGGGGGGGGGGLy!:scared1: But I think I was exactly the same way with DD's case manager yesterday. :headache:

Tell my boy, he is off stall mucking duty. ;) Hopefully DS13 will be challenged by stronger teachers when he goes to high school.

Jennifer, I am glad your nephew is enjoying his new school. His frustration level will likely go down and the meltdowns too!

Sorry you are still struggling with DD's case manager. Let DH at em' they'll cry too. LOL

DS13 will get challenged in HS, her really can't wait for a change. They have been in this building so long they can't grow.
He's so ready, I wish I could bump him up now.

Yeah for them. I hate teachers like that. E's teacher is about to get an earful. she was a royal jerk at fall report cards he wasn't in school today so I'm having to wait till monday for his.
L made honor roll for the first time in his life!!!

Jennifer that is awful. L is dyslexic and 6th grade has brought him out of his shell. that teacher needs her head knocked against a wall.

Lisa go get them! I'm so sick of people not doing their jobs.

I can' completely understand how your son feels. My second grade teacher was the same way. She put me in the lowest reading group and told my mom I was not a good student and would never call on me when I raised my hand. I did get moved out of her class, but the damage was already done. It took me to when I went back to college for my BSN at 30something to realize that I can be a good student and graduated with a 3.97 GPA.
My mom wasn't the most supportive when I was in school and that was a big problem.
As long as you are supportive he will be ok. I needed the reassurance and if you give that to him it will go a long way.
Good luck
Cindy

Way to go, Blink Boys!!

I hate that so many of y'all have to deal with teachers, counselors, case managers who don't do their jobs! It makes those of us that really care and really try look bad!! Move down here--I promise to take care of them!!

Sadly we only have 1 teacher for each grade so I can't switch. So, we may still switch schools at least for 4th grade (sister if the current teacher)

The biggest issue it because the school is so small there is no growth for the teachers. They are just there to collect money until they retire. The 2 teachers I have issues with are sisters that have never been married, have no kids, and have worked in the same building for 35 years. How can you grow and learn if you do the same thing in the same environment for 30+ years?!?
