My DH and DS5 DS9 were suppose to go to Disney for our anniversary in 2011 but we were suprised with our DD who is now a month old!! We rescheduled our trip for May 5-13 2012! Plus I lost my promo code we got in the mail do to rebooking :scared1: so I am really hoping this will be a nice time to go!! Any tips or anything I should know about going this time of year!! All my research and planning was for october so I am having to start over!! :surfweb: Help is much appriciated!!

May should be a nice time to be at the parks. The weather should be nice, not too hot, and the crowds should be good, since you probably are taking your kids out of school. Sounds like a perfect time to go! have fun!!:lovestruc

May is a really nice time to go. I've done it twice so far and have another May trip planned.

F&G Festival is going on at Epcot. I love the extra playgrounds that are installed then and the extra flowers and topiaries.

The weather has been wonderful. Perfect for walking around the parks and if you are going to a waterpark it's good weather for that too.

You may find that you like May better than October!

I adore May. I take my (straight A) students out of school and off we go. It's just beautiful that time of year. Good luck planning!

We went May 8 -13th 2011 and it was VERY HOT AND HUMID. But the crowds weren't so bad.

Yea I was there around the same time last year and it was smokin hot. I don't recommend planning heavy lunches, it's just uncomfortable.

I'll be at POP May 5-13... maybe we should set up a mini-meet for around the 10th since it sounds like a few of us will be overlapping there??

We went in May 2011 and like PP said it was very very hot and humid. Spent a lot of time at the pools because it was so hot. So be prepared and take lots of breaks and drink lots of water.

We are planning on going in May too. I was afraid we wouldn't be able to swim because it would be too cool but now I see that probably won't be the case, haha.

:thumbsup2 We did the first week of May last year and had a blast. We drank lots of water and I spent time at the pool. The water was cool but completely doable. It was very nice. Soooo nice, our dates for this year are 5/4-5/11. We are also going 10/26-11/2 for our usualy visit. May is quickly becoming a second trip each year.:cloud9:

DH and I are looking to go in early May too. We haven't set exact dates yet (we really need to get on top of that!) But from everything I've read, it seems like a great time to go! Hoping for low-moderate crowds and warm but reasonable temps! :)

We were there last year from May 18th until 25th. We will be there this year the exact same dates as you. We like May. It isn't overly crowded. It can be hot though but not nearly as hot as mid or late summer.

We'll be there May 4- 8th. It's really unusual to have it as hot as it was last year. Beautiful time of year with less humidity (usually). Crowds are lower and the F&G at Epcot is spectacular. My favorite time of year to go to WDW!

May really was hot, but my friend and I loved the Flower & Garden show at Epcot.
We are going again this year May 3-14th and staying at the Coronado Springs resort. :)
This time we plan to spend more downtime at the pool, and do at least 1 waterpark day.

Be prepared for LOTS of rain! Check out the average rainfall for May (it skyrockets compared to April). When we went in May, it rained the ENTIRE time! Not just showers either, but all day downpours. I am sure this isn't the norm, but definitely take that into account! If you're set on going in May, compile a list of lots of rainy-day activities- I wish I had known about all the stuff to do during our first rainy trip, it would have saved a lot of sadness! We are going in April this year so we can hopefully avoid the rainy May!!

We are going this year May 6- 13th. We went last year around the same time. We LOVED it. Flower and Garden is going on which makes Epcot just more fun; it's beautiful. Crowds are just more manageable. (avoid EMH)
It can get somewhat hot (especially depending on where you are from) but it is not nearly as hot and miserable as summer. Think topping out around 89 on average. We did not experience any rain last year except briefly our last day. Average rain for this time of year is low- 12% - to 38% according to easywdw.
You should have a great trip!

We were there last year from May 18th- 24th and it didn't rain one single day. I remember this because it was the first WDW trip, we didn't have some rain.

I was there the first week of May in 2009 and we didn't see any rain, maybe we got lucky but hopefully we get lucky again because we will be there the first week of May again this year :yay:

we normally go the last week in May or the first week in June (every 2 years) This May we will be there May 7th - 11th. Not a very long trip, but we are looking forward to finally staying in a moderate, CBR. We've stayed at the All-Stars and Pop thus far and have enjoyed them, but now that my kids are grown up (22 and almost 20) I think it's time for a more grown up resort. If I could only get them to help pay their way! haha!

Anyway, I am hoping the weather is a little cooler than early June and that the crowd level is low so we can get a lot in since we will only be there for 4 days. We are doing just the base tickets with no hoppers and are thinking about skipping Animal Kingdom so we can get two days at the Magic Kingdom. I think that's do-able.

Anyway, maybe we'll see you there and not even know it.

Enjoy your trip!
