Replacing existing reservation with waitlist

I have an existing reservation at OKW from 11/28 to 12/9, and I want to switch resorts partway through. This morning I waitlisted at BLT for 12/3-12/9. In the field asking if I want to replace an existing reservation if the waitlist comes through, I clicked yes, and filled in 12/3-12/9 and my OKW room information.

My question is this: When the waitlist comes through (I'm an optimist ), will only the 12/3-12/9 dates be removed from my existing OKW reservation, leaving 11/28-12/3, or will the entire reservation be replaced regardless of the dates I entered?

I would call MS, have them note on the waitlist what you want to do and hope that the CM who works the waitlist if it comes through reads and understands the instructions.

Anything other than normal and you run the risk of things going wrong.

They will likely cancel the entire existing reservation if you don't get them to separate it.

I've read where MS has done it correctly and just replaced the nights listed but I think they've also done it where they've cancelled the entire reservation. It is something I'd consider to be at risk of happeing.
