Ok, so I have found some Christmas tableware I like on a site called Replacements,LTD. Anyone ever ordered from them. The prices are really good but i am nervous about ordering with them. Are their pieces new or used? Imperfections?

Mostly used pieces. I dealt with the website when I was an insurance agent.
Basically the website sells pieces to folks who might be missing a piece of China sets.
They purchase from general public. Then sell it for slight profit.
They sell crystal, china and silver.
ETA.. never had any issues with them professionally.

Well I found the Spode Jubilee reindeer plates I wanted at Kohls. And after the 4-5 promo codes I applied they came out a couple dollars cheaper each anyways. And I know they will be new!

Now I am hoping the solid color of shamrock in a Fiesta ware dinner plate will math with them well.

I LOVE Replacements - they actually have a showroom and warehouses full of china, crystal, silver and giftware. They even give tours - it's a multi million dollar business that's been in business for decades. I have bought many many pieces of vintage and out of production china and silver there. They also carry new and slight second items. Their customer service is top notch...

I used to drive by their warehouse all the time when we lived in North Carolina. It is HUGE!

I have purchased from them. If the items weren't "new" I wouldn't know! They were in perfect condition.

Where in NC? Maybe I should start casually driving around my new home state!

My set of china is still all good--we've had no losses, knock wood. But I've inherited both my mom's china, and DH's grandmother's. These will go to my two daughters, eventually. My mom's set is only service for 6, which I might upgrade to 8 for whichever DD, and I know there are a bunch of pieces missing from their great-grandmother's set. I figure the upgrade/fill-in might make a nice wedding gift at some point.

Replacements has been around forever and is a reputable company. However, their prices are very, very high. I have had much better success and spent far less money buying replacement pieces for my dinner service on eBay.

I'm curious--how long did this take you? I just checked out eBay, for yucks, and looked up my china pattern and also DH's grandmother's pattern. I did find a few random pieces in each, and the prices were good, but they only had five different pieces in one pattern, and three in the other. If I happened to need cups and saucers or a creamer, I'd be golden, but if I needed dinner plates or a gravy boat, no luck. I recognize that the results would be entirely different next week, but you could spend a lot of time looking and waiting and hoping. Maybe more recent patterns have better luck?

They have been around for years. I used them over 15 years ago to add to my set of discontinued pattern. They still send me emails LOL

I've used them to replace items in older patterns but sometime they get kooky with the prices. Didn't think of buying a whole set through them but it makes sense

It depends on the pattern. The China I was looking for on eBay was made in the 50s (a Noritake pattern), but is readily available on eBay. Keep looking!

That's good to know--I believe DH's grandmother's pattern is from that era. I don't actually need anything from my own pattern, I was just checking out of curiosity. My mom's pattern is packed away in the attic, and I don't know the name. She should be easy, it's just white with a platinum band. The DD who will likely get the 1950's Noritake is only 13, I have a little time. But, I'll probably start looking when she hits college, just to be safe.

MynDH bought me some replacement flatware pieces from there last year for Christmas. The pieces did not looked used, but they do sell used items.

My only complaint is the very small amount they will pay when you sell stuff to them vs. how much item cost to buy, but that is how they make money.

I have a set of sterling silver flatware from the 1970s. It was discontinued about 35-40 years ago. I really love it but I wanted to buy a few more place settings as well as gravy ladle, serving spoons, etc. Replacements was an excellent source. I also found some on ebay, but it's a difficult pattern to find. Even Replacements doesn't always have that many pieces. My favorite sugar bowl was broken a few years ago and Replacements was the only place I could even find that particular style of sugar bowl mentioned. I was very happy to be able to buy another. I highly recommend them!
