I wonder how this new photo package will effect pre booked PP+ packages ?

http://www.wdwmagic.com/other/mymagicplus/news/04dec2013-new-mymagic-memory-maker-begins-friday.htm

I've already pre ordered my PP+ for next October and I've received the CD of stock photos and the voucher. If this memory maker package is going to replace PP+ I wonder if when I hand in my PP+ voucher I'll just automatically get the memory maker package ........ I hope they don't try and get more money from me if the cost of the new package is more expensive.

Yes, I think that is what is going to happen. I think they are trying to get all their products and services into the 'Magic+' theme, even if only by name, but want to be seen to be offering something more in so doing.

And if it is an enhanced version of the system (as PP+ was of regular PP) then what we have will remain as is with the option to upgrade for a fee, just as in the past :)

Its online now - same price for the pre-order at $149.

Its all digital and everything has to be downloaded with no option for a CD to be shipped and I am assuming no more prints at the Character meals

I think they have also stopped the pre-order on just the regular CD as I can't find it now. :scratchin

I am guessing as thats the only option we will be doing it - and as we have most of the character meal photos in the past I can just print the photos at home and replace them in old frame. I am not changing my PP+ for December for the new memory maker - I will get one last CD!!

I recently purchased the PP+ but have not received anything through the post yet. I am guessing I will still receive the PP+ rather than the new one.

I assume that when u hand the voucher in they will get you to take the new package instead. Not so bothered about the CD I can load onto a USB at home once downloaded and get them put on to CD in asda - Cheaper than Disney ones :thumbsup2

So how does this Memory Maker work ?

I want to buy it for my DD for Christmas so she has it for her trip in May ?

Tony

Always thought that photo pass was unjustifiable at $140 when people are walking around with with smartphones that do an ok job of capturing. All your family fun. Can anyone post what the price/service is here or will it only be posted this Friday?

We know the price is $149 if you purchase at least 3 days before your trip and for that you will be able to download all the photos taken by the park photographers and the ride photos.

Until someone uses it we won't have first hand knowledge of how it works it practice.

And which is why I will wait until enough folk have used it and reported back before making a decision as to what to do with my pre ordered PP+

We will be using it in January but I know tinkerbell1989 is using it in December so hopefully she will let us know. X

I am using my pre-order PP+ in December (I am getting the CD that I have paid for :rotfl: ) but will be using the new package next year :thumbsup2

Oh I thought it had all changed even if you had paid for PP+ when you go you will get the new memory maker.

By all means I can let everyone know. I go in 10 days, and have pre purchased PP+ (i have the stock photos disk to prove it! ;-) ) so who knows!

And actually, the way I read it (correct me if im wrong, please!), it links in with magic bands, which is onsite guests only, and I am staying offsite, so I may or may not be of any use! Xx

I like this idea

Well I plan to redeem by PP+ card on Friday night so will report back. Everything I have read seems to suggest guests can opt to keep their existing package or switch to the new Memory maker.

I want to stick with my pp+ if at all possible - I do not want to be an unpaid tester with my photos!

Ok will be good if you can let us know. I read it as there wasn't a choice. If I have to have it I would rather have it before I go so it doesn't all get mixed up and I miss my first 3 days.

Unfortunately the email I received last night in response to that question suggests otherwise. I will paste the message onto her this evening but the gist of it is that if you have the PP+ CD and want Memory Maker, you have to ship the sealed, unused CD and voucher back to them and allow two weeks to process a refund. You can order MM instead if you wish at any time.

Fortunately I decided not to unseal my CD since I already have one. Slightly annoying that they are still selling PP+ with a shipping charge for international guests but you have to pay your own costs to return the CD now if you want the package that didnt' exist when you ordered the one you have ..... :rolleyes1

Collected my PP+ no problem on Saturday morning :thumbsup2

Also enjoying having the Magicbands to scan so much easier than the old cards :goodvibes

Is the photo pass plus on the magic band now? X

Not the actual PP+ - you still get the red card for ride & dining photos.

For the standard photos I have been using my magic band.
