I have been using a phone number from privatephone.com for all my surveys and signups etc so I don't get called at home but they have gone out of business. I found another free one: simplevoicebox.com and I wondered what others use or if anyone else has used this and can recommend it?
thanks so much!!

Hey, Redwitch. thanks for responding. I do have an aol email and aim but I can not find a link for the phone service. The only one I found is not free. Can you tell me where to find it? thanks so much!!!

Hi Jeanadave, I just found the website but it says I need an invite from a current grandcentral member. Can you PM me an invite or referral link? Is this a separate phone number, which can be used for survey sites etc? and is there any cost or downside? I was very happy with private phone. I was sorry to see them go.
Thanks so much!!

I too am very interested in this type of free phone service. I don't like to put my home phone number on the internet reward sites. PrivatePhone was perfect!

I use aol. You can get a free aol addy and a free phone number.

Do you have a link for this. I have AOL internet service - it typed in free AOL phone in Keyword, it says it won't be available until May.

I found this on a cooldealsites.com. It gave these suggestions for the phone # problem as part of an excellent GPT tutorial:

"Sign up for a free voicemail box at K7. Filling out freebie offers will result in a barrage of telemarketer phone calls. Having a free voicemail box allows you to sign in online to listen to your messages at your convenience instead being bombarded with sales calls on your home phone. Other options are , Simple Voice Box, eVoice.com or Simple Voice Box."

Does anyone use any of these? Are they the same type thing as Private Phone?

Bummer, I was hoping someone had shared a free phone service site by now.

I used to use Netzero but it went belly up too. That or you have to pay for it now. :confused3 Either way, I don't use it anymore.

Anybody willing to share, make a suggestion, pass along a link ... anything?

Sorry, I haven't heard of any of these before now. It sounds just like what Netzero was providing. Have you tried one of them yet?

Wish I could be more helpful. I've quit doing any offers that require a phone number because I'm tired of my home phone ringing at all hours of the day. :sad2:

I hope this helps some of you. I did sign up for k7 and so far so good. It was easy and they only asked for very basic info (email and name - no address needed even) I have had it for several days now and it is working great. I can check my messages online just like private phone. I am so happy:dance3:
I absolutely hated giving my home phone number out. Our phone has been ringing off the hook. Hopefully now that I have switched, the phone calls will eventually stop!!

Here is the link: http://k7.net/

I think the only stipulation is that you have to use the service at least once per month or they will discontinue your service. I don't think that will be a problem!

Good Luck, I hope it works for others.
