Replacement AP question

if I am going to add Maxpass to our APs is there any reason to replace the actual cards? I seem to have lost them. Again.

Officially you have to have the physical cards to take advantage of perks like discounts and parking (if included in your pass). Some have reported luck being able to use the barcode in their app and still receive these things, but it's not a guarantee. If these aren't relevant to you, then in theory you could get away just scanning from the app and using MP to get FPs.

Could you try going to the booth to renew and see if they can pixie dust with replacement cards without the replacement fee as it's a renewal?

Agree with the above poster that if you want to be sure to get your discounts and parking (if included on your pass), then you will need the actual card. (Don't forget that you can get AP discounts off site at certain restaurants, too -- your server will ask to see your card.) Also, if you ever go with a group that doesn't have MP and you want everyone to have the same FP return times, you will need the cards to use at the FP machines.
Here's hoping that you find your old cards!

FWIW: I am always losing things like that. Always. It's slowed down now as I started keeping track of items like APs on my phone. I put them in drawer/closet/cabinet/etc & then pull out my phone & make a note in the note application like APs- sock drawer. I feel like I'm 90 years old doing that but it's helped!
