Replace back windshield estimate?

Hey Dis'ers has anyone replaced a back windshield lately? My was shattered and I need to replace it. I was wondering if it was going to be around $500ish or am I looking at $1000-$2000.

Thanks. I have a 1989 Acura Integra. I'm just looking for a ballpark figure. I have internet quotes out but no one has replied yet.

And b4 anyone asks yes I have insurance but I think my deductible a $1000 is more than it will actually costs so I'm paying out of pocket.

You should check your insurance coverage because recently someone broke out my back window and I found out that glass was covered 100% and there was no deductible with glass breakage.

Yes, definitely call your insurance because glass claims usually are different and don't fall under that deductible...our deductible for glass is $100. Anything else, is $1000.

Not necessarily. In CT, glass replacement (at least the front windshield, but I"m pretty sure the back too) is something the insurance companies are required to cover with no deductible. Maybe in your state too?

Haven't replaced a back windshield lately, but we did our front one recently and it came to $680 for our Toyota Camry.

We lost a couple over the years, I found a way to bring the price down a lot...


each time I called and told them I dont have insurance for it and will be paying myself.....

Amazingly the price went from 500- 600 down to 200- 300. JUST LIKE THAT!


I am of course insured, but hate to see them taking the mick.

Just had to have my rear window replaced last week...My deductible for glass break for the windows (other than the front windshield which is replaced at no charge here in Florida) was $100.00. My back window also had the heater and antenna the total cost was $334.51, I just payed the deductible.

We had the front windshield of our Infiniti QX4 replaced last year due to a crack from a stone and it was only $225, incl. tax. We got a quote from AAA and they were by far the cheapest around (they contract with various places). Plus, they offered a full year replacement warranty, even if broken from a stone or such again, as opposed to the standard 30 day policy. And they came out and replaced in the parking lot of my job so I didn't have to take any time off.

Our insurance policy does not cover glass replacement.
