Do you find yourseld watching the same movies over and over? I sure do and it goes in spurts with which one I get hooked on watching. I've watched Wimbledon 3 times this week. Last week it was Pride & Prejudice. I love a movie that can make me swoon:)

The ones I can watch over and over are:

Pretty Woman
Breakfast Club
Ferris Bueller's Day off
Anything with Kevin Costner (esp. Bull Durham and JFK)
Maid in Manhattan
Serendipidy
Underworld
Mr. and Mrs. Smith
and
the 1955 Fred Astaire classic "Daddy Long Legs"

I am sure there are more but I can't think of them right now. If I LOVE it I watch it.

Yep. For a looong while it was Star Wars. I won't tell you how many times I've seen those films because, frankly, you'd think I was more of a geek than you already do. Let's just say, there was an episode of the X-Files that featured a woman who was a Star Wars fan (I am NOTHING like her, BTW; I don't go around saying "May the Force be with you" or anything like that) and the number she quoted as how many times she had seen Star Wars didn't even come close to mine... :rolleyes1

More recently it was The X-Files: Fight the Future, and now it's PIRATES! :hippie:

yes, but I blame HBO, Starz, etc...LOL

I recently watched "Stick It" 3x in that many days...

And the funny thing is, I get annoyed with my DH for watching Top Gun or Hunt For Red October repeatedly. :rolleyes1

Yep, certain movies I will watch over and over again. Even if they are on tv with all the commercials in them and editted. If I like it, I will watch it.

Yes to the OP question

I'm watching Miss Congeniality for the 100th time.

Oh lord. I'm the worst. I can't even tell you how many times I've seen Two Weeks Notice. Today I watched Return of the King for the umpteenth time. I'm probably the only person on the planet that's seen Waterworld 37 times.

And weirdly there are some movies I love sooooo much I can't stand to watch them again. Gorillas in the Mist is one of my favorite movies ever and yet it was so heartbreaking, I can't bring myself to see it again. The Bridges of Madison County and Titanic were the same. Has anyone ever had that happen? A movie just effecting you so much you couldn't watch it again?

I'm raising third generation repeat movie watchers. This is a trait on both sides of our families, lol.

My DH wanted to buy me a DVD player in 1999. I said not to buy it until my five favorite movies came out on DVD. I was still quite sore that ex husband took the laserdisc player and those five movies.

Christmas 2000, I owned about a dozen dvds and either three or four of those titles were available. 400 something movies later and we watch quite a few over and over. 200 are Disney movies. I'd say there are only a half dozen in all of those that have been watched once!

Right now it's a bad kick of Narnia, Slient Hill and Serenity

Every time I see the Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy on I have to watch it, it's a requirement! Miss Congeniality 2 - it's in Vegas, we love Vegas! Love Actually - London at Christmas time  I have yet to make it through it dry eyed though. If DD doesn't watch Bend it Like Beckham at least once a week I'm sure she thinks she'll die - silly girl, but we do love our Becks around here! :cloud9:

There's a bunch more, but I can't think of them right now!

I will log in here as well. We have 200 DVDs.

Those are part of my list, too! My five must haves were:
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
When Harry Met Sally
Moonstruck
Bull Durham
Silverado

My kids are in serious Star Wars/Harry Potter repeats. As a result, I think I watch each episode of Star Wars about twice a month and each Harry Potter once a month. This is even with my DH for all intents and purposes being the SAHD and I work a lot more!

Yes, My Girl broke my heart and I just can't bring myself to ever watch again.

Add

When Harry Met Sally (Poohnatic, we are sooo alike;) )
Steel Magnolias
Dirty Dancing

I am sure more are to come..

I have issues with having to save the best movies for "special", meaning rarely watched. I haven't seen Narnia in a year. :sad2: I'm breaking it out again for Easter, though. :)

I can pretty much say that all of my many DVD's have been watched many many times. The ones that have gotten the most use are:
The Princess Bride
Beauty and the Beast
Rose Red
Storm of the Century
that is just a few of them I have lots of movies and I watch them all the time.

The movies I watch again and again are:

any of the Star Wars movies (I'm a geek. I do know most of the dialogue to the movies. :o )
any of the X-Men movies
any of the Spiderman movies
Say Anything
Peter Pan (animated and live action)
Finding Neverland
