Renting/Using vrbo

Has anyone every rented throught any of the vrbo listing? Any feedback/recommendations/suggestion/experiences. I guess it would all be based on trust (like renting DVC points, etc.). Just curious - planning/thinking Europe and no exchanges through DVC in area considering. TIA.

In 2000 we used a VRBO listing to rent a house and while the vrbo part was easy the house we rented was not good
that being said my EX boss listed his house on VRBO and all was well

I think VRBO is a great resourse for finding a place but once you find one your interested in i would see if the owners have a website or a place where you can get feedback from past guests

just because II doesn't have any exchanges in the area - doesn't mean that RCI won't.
