renting through DVC store -UPDATED

I am looking at a somewhat last minute trip in August and tried to book some discounted points this morning with the DVC Store. They want me to send them PayPal payment as friends/family! This removes any protection as a buyer, does not allow the use of a credit card (more buyer protection) AND it seems to violate the PayPal terms of service.

What am I missing? Is this how rental businesses work? Should I look at a different company?

**My interaction went up the chain and Jerry offered to have me use the Goods/Services function by rolling the 3% fee into the rental cost. This I understand and can get behind. I am glad to know that even though DVC is no longer the sponser here, they are a solid company.

I have rented twice this year through DVC Store and I highly recommend!
I was able to rent discounted points, sent money through PayPal, and got confirmation all in the same day.
On one night, the room got booked after sending money and they refunded the money the same day.
They were very professional and easy to contact by phone when I had a question.
I was able to link my reservation on MDE the same day as well.

There is no protection through PayPal for timeshare transactions, FYI
