Renting points- was your vacation transaction a mooth one? Pls share

Hi new DVC member here- area du developing 'addonitis' BUT to keep myself in check, I am contemplating renting points vs buying right now.....

Considering using TSS and I understand I submit my request and TSS will let DVCpwner know (whom sets up ressie and the. Monies are collected thru TSS after vacation completed? Considering a dec stay now, after my sept n trip (both 2014)

I haven't heard of anyone paying AFTER their trip, but if don't know much about the TSS rentals. Through a private owner or David's, you would be paid in full ahead of time, not after, as far as I know. With some owners, you may have to pay in full long before your trip.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I also thought this was a bit inconvenient for any DVC owner trying to rent points and a bit heavy on 'the honor system'.

We would rather pay our vacation up front and be done with that part anyhow.

Anyone else with experiences you can share? Owner side or renter side?

Have you considered getting a transfer? You'd have control over the reservation and any changes that needs to be made after booking.
