Hi! I am a new DVC owner with an excess of points I would like to rent through David's. I sent a request and received an intermediary agreement which I agreed to and then sent back. I have not heard back since. Is this normal? What comes next? Any advice is welcome!

I was in the same boat you were when I bought resale. I sold the surplus points through David's, and it could not have been easier - loved everything about the experience! They made it very uncomplicated, even for a newbie to DVC. I signed the agreement. I got an email about two days later, saying they could use my points. The next day I received all the information about making the reservation. I had a question, so I called David's directly, and they answered right away. A little later, I added the DDP for the borrower. This also was no problem and very easy. They completed the vacation in February, and I'm sure they had a magical time! If you have anything you need to know, David's will be there for you. They were for me, and I would use them again in a heartbeat.

If you've signed the agreement, then you just wait. When they get a request that fits into your parameters, they'll send an e-mail to you and anyone else who fits the same parameters. Whoever responds to them first is sent the information to make the reservation. If you haven't heard from them then it's just because they don't have any requests for what you're offering. I waited about two weeks before I got my first request and another couple of weeks before the second arrived this week. I've been pleased that they pay quickly, and it's been quite easy to make the reservations. Now that I've been on the DIS for over 6 months, I may try to rent points on the boards here, but David's was pretty easy.

you just wait for them to contact you with possible reservations. Normally only takes a few days

Sometimes fast/Sometimes slow

I have points with David's for about 6 months. I've made about 10 reservation through them. Some of my points went very fast. I now have points with David's that have been sitting there for 4 months without being rented (BWV points). Generally, they have been very good. 2 out of the 10 reservations had errors in the info from David's that caused me time to change the reservation

Impression is generally positive, but they do make mistakes

I just rented points this past week using David's for the first time. I got an e-mail the day after my points went into the queue that a renter was looking for what I had. The time frame probably depends on the resort and how many points you have available to rent. I needed to rent 150 but told David's I would be willing to rent 300 so that I would match up with someone looking for 151-300 points as well. The contract I rented points for was for 197 points so if I had only listed the 150 I would not have received the e-mail from David's.
