Hello All,

Just found your info on Renting DVC points. Never knew you could do that. My family was looking into going to Coronado Springs this October, but now I wonder if it would be better to rent points for the Beach Club Villas (hopefully). I am still quite wary of renting.

Can the experts help me out with some questions and give advice

What are the Advantages/Disadvantages
Anyone had bad experience renting from someone?
What are the studio rooms like?

Any other hints, suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

 Welcome to the Dis :)

I found this board in the same manner you did three years ago. I was set to book a room at a moderate and found info on renting points. Like yourself I was also very leery of renting points....I went through with it and had nothing but good experiences, and I ended up becoming a DVC member also ;)

There really are no disadvantages....sorry :teeth: The advantage is that you get to rent a really nice room at a deluxe resort for a fraction of the rack rate. The other big advantage is there is NO tax.

I haven't had any bad experiences renting from someone...I don't think that there have been any bad experiences on this board from what I know. The member faces a risk renting their points to you also, so it goes both ways. Plus, many are not willing to risk their reputation on here to screw over someone on a point rental ;) We like being able to rent out our time on here.

Studios are nice....you will find many that are spoiled by a 1BR (hate to admit that I'm one of them) but a studio is a really nice room....pretty much the same as a deluxe room except with the added kitchenette (which is really nice to have! ::yes:: ) Not sure what resort you are looking at but the layouts differ depending on the resort.

Hope that helps

:wave2:

We were looking at Beach Club Villas for Oct 1 - 9 (aprox 129 points). Our 2 year would love the pool area.

I really want to own, but we can't afford the extra monthly payments right now. Hopefully in a few years we can afford it.

Thanks for the info!

BCV is very nice. The studios there seem kind of smaller (but maybe it is just me?) Anyways, that is where I own and my husband has declared it his favorite. I'm still stuck on the Boardwalk :teeth:

The pool is great, the location of the resort is great....you can't go wrong.

Have fun!

How are the Wilderness Lodge Villas? Are the rooms actually "nicer" or "better" than the WL regular rooms? How do they compare? How does the atmosphere compare?

I've never stayed in a WL regular room before. I have seen pictures and they seem comparable, except VWL has a queen bed and a double sleeper sofa, as well as the kitchenette.

I stayed there a couple years ago and it was really nice.
