Renting points & online check in

I have 3 rooms booked for our upcoming stay. Two of the rooms were booked with my points and one was booked with rented points. I have not been able to do online check in for the room booked with rented points.
Should I be able to do it or does the point owner have to do it. The reservation does show up in My Disney Experience. Thanks!
 
I have one room our points, one room rented. I had no issues doing online checkin.

Thanks. I have had a lot of problems with the MDE site for this trip.
I wonder if member services can help...
 

We never check in online. We prefer to visit the front desk, find out what's going on and adjust room location if necessary.

I have always done online check, and not once have I "gotten" to skip the front desk entirely. You can always go and visit, and you can change your room as well.

Are you going through the DVC site or through WDW directly? If the former, I'd try the latter.

Because it's there to be done. I have done all iterations of online checkin even before the "skip the front desk" part showed up. I like telling them when I'll be there in hopes they'll have a room ready for me.

But I've literally never gotten a room ready text; not sure why! Hope sort of springs eternal for it, just to cross off my list, but I would likely still go to the front desk even if just to find out where the heck the room is. : )

I'm not the poster you quoted, but we have done online check in 3 times and had our room ready when we arrive between noon and 2pm. We did not get the room ready text some people get. We just stopped to check and they had our room ready.
 
I still have the room ready texts on my phone for our last 4 stays. The earliest one come thru at 11:06 am and the latest was at 3:28 pm.
