Renting points, free internet?

Do I get free internet access since I am renting points from a DVC member?

Maybe, maybe not. Some renters have reported getting it and others have reported being charged.

Since you are not a DVC member, if you are charged for it, you won't be able to fight it.

So, I would go expecting to pay, but hoping not to get charged.

Officially, renters are not entitled to Member perks. However, DVC relies on the Member renting to you to identify you as a renter (rather than a guest). Most Members "forget" to tell DVC that they are renting, because that makes their rental more valuable.

So, the answer is "You're not supposed to, but you probably will anyway."

On two occasions, I have had to enter my DVC membership number when logging into the internet service. So, unless the member you are renting from is willing to provide that information, renters may be charged for using the service. Most times, there has been no request for that information though.
