Renting points for use at a non-DVC room?

Hi All,

There are a million things running through my head as I think about a solo trip this january, so I appoligize if this question pops up 100s of times....

I'm interested in renting points, but I don't really want a studio. I've stayed with DVC members before and we booked a regular room at YC. I would be interested in getting a deluxe hotel room. Is there somewhere I can find the chart to give me an estimate on how many points I would need to rent? And finally, is renting from a stranger safe, it seems like its a regular thing here on the Disboard.

It really isn't cost-effective to do that. Rooms at the YC go for 36-55 points per weeknight for a Standard View, which is $360-550 per night if you rent points.

You'd be much better off going with a DVC studio or reserving YC for cash. They are just as nice as the deluxe hotel rooms, plus you have the use of the kitchnette.

There's also a $95 reservation fee for non-DVC resorts (except Disneyland).

The studios at OKW are the same or more like a hotel room..I think I saw one of your other posts and you are going same time as me ...if you decide on OKW or if you just want to get together for a meal PM me! I am going with DH but he often goes off alone anyway.
