Hi all!

I am not sure if this is the right place to post this and if it's not I'm sorry  Please move it to the correct location if needed :)

Anyways- We are going to WDW in December, and currently have a reservation made at Fort Wilderness. We have been looking into renting points to stay at a DVC resort instead, but have a few questions we have been unable to find a solid answer for. If anyone could help us out that would be great :)

1. How unlikely is it that there will actually still be a 2-bedroom villa (preferably Wilderness Lodge or Old Key West) available this late? We are late to the game :(
2. If we do end up at a DVC location and cancel our Fort reservation, will we lose all of our dining reservations? We have Be Our Guest dinner and CRT and a couple other hard to get reservations and it would break my heart to lose them!
3. Will we still be able to make Fastpass+ reservations 60 days out?
4. Will we still be able to link MagicBands and Memory Maker?
5. How does the Dining Plan work when renting? I know you pay the company/individual renting the points for the dining plan but does that mean that it is under the member's name?
6. Can we take Magical Express? Will the reservation be under our name or the DVC member's name? Can a member of our party who will not be arriving with us still take it later in the day if they are on our reservation?

Thanks yall! I'm a noob :confused3

1. About zero chance for a room in December this late, but if you can find a willing member, they could wait list- and cancel fort wilderness if it comes through. Or maybe find a couple days at DVC available now, and split up your trip. Do be aware that most DVC owners won't wait list for a renter, but maybe if you get lucky...

2. Room change won't effect your ADR. Remember that you don't have to have a Disney room at all for ADR. These are totally separate.

3. Yes

4. Yes

5. The dining plan is in whatever names are on the room reservation. You are correct that you have to pay the member and they have to add the plan for you.

6. Yes. And whatever names are on the room are the people they take. 6c. Yes

I agree. Getting anything for December this late is probably not very likely. December is very popular with members, especially early Dec. Lots of members book their early Dec stays at 11 months out to make sure they have a place to stay.

Late Sept through mid Jan are pretty popular times for DVC members.

I can tell you or sure there is no availability in December because we have just decided to go in December 2015 so I was playing about with availability and I could find 1 or 2 nights not together and that's it everywhere.

i am looking to find info on renting points for sept 2015. is this a hard time to get a reservation at AK? i am new to renting this is my second trip to WDW. there is 7 adults and 3 little kids (under 3). probably looking for 3 deluxe studio. will be from sunday thru sat. i know their is alot of good info on here just finding the right thread can be hard.

DVC reservations for September, 2015 can be made in October, 2014 - 11 months ahead of the arrival date. You will have no problem getting reservations if you reserve 11 months ahead and can likely make reservations even 7 months ahead for that timeframe.

You can go to the DVC Rent/Trade Board and post your request in a thread where an AKV owner is offering to make reservations and they should be able to assist. You can also contact our advertiser, www.DVCrequest.com who can help with reservations.

Be sure to review the **How to use this Board** thread stuck near the top of that board, as it has some good information and suggestions about the rental process. Please realize that renting from a member is usually a bit more restrictive than renting thru Disney directly as most will have a no refund policy - so be sure of your date/resort/villa type before making the reservation. You will not have daily housekeeping or a liberal cancellation policy, but can certainly save some $$$ with a rental.

Enjoy! :)
