Renting movies on itunes- question

I see that you can rent movies on itunes for around $3.99. You can also purchase for $14.99-$19.99.

Am I right in assuming that if you rent it will be streamed?

I am trying to get some movies onto my ipad for our trip to Disney, but I really don't usually purchase movies as there are very few I watch more than once. The kids will watch more than once, but this is a movie for me.

I don't have 3G on my ipad, only wi-fi, so I need to know if I need internet access to watch a rented movie or not.

So, is it streaming or is it saved on your computer/ipad until you watch it?

Nope, it's downloaded and saved in your device. So you'd only need a connection to download it.

It automatically deletes 24 hours after you start it. But the movie unwatched stays for 30 days.

I usually rent when I head out on vacation. Gives me something to watch on the plane.
