Hello All ~ We are seriously considering WDW trip for March Break. If we go, I'd like to rent points from a CDN DVC Owner for Sunday-Thursday Beach Club Villa studio room.

March 11th-15th inclusive, 5 nights [Sun-Thu] or
March 18th-22th inclusive, 5 nights [Sun-Thu]

What is the process and cancellation policy? Thanks! Sandra

It depends on the renter. All have there own guidelines/rules. If you check the rental board it will at least give you some idea as to some renters policies and then you can look for a Canuck.

FYI,

Can't help you out this time. Using all my points for Christmas!

But it's usually 50% up front and then the rest prior to arriving.

You may be out of luck since it's only 4 months out.

Good Luck

Sorry to steal this thread but I was wondering how many points one would need for a week in Hawaii.. I understand that there is timeshare there too right? Thinking of a February or March. Not necessarily this upcoming year just looking for amount of points.

It's usually more expensive to use points outside of the Disney resorts then it is to pay cash usually.

For example - one place in the book called the Grand Wailea REsort hotel and spa ion Maui Hawaii is 78 to 85 points PER NIGHT. Sunday to Sunday.

Check www.tug2.net

There should be some listings for Hawaii available:)

yes, that is a LOT I will check out that site, thanks!!

My parents and brother just came back last week from a cruise in hawaii and they said it was a great way to see the islands - they booked it through vacations to go .com and paid about $1000 per person USD for a 10 day cruise.

All my points are gone for this year so I can't help you..sorry. Are you talking about March 2007? If so, availablity at that time is pretty limited right now. I had to book out at the 7 month window to get what I needed.

I called last week for someone and there are a few rooms for single nights but I doubt you can get BC for 5 nights in a row. Maybe SSR.

When we rent our points we require a 50% deposit non refundable at the time of booking then the remainder is 4 months prior to travel. Our new rental rate is 13.50 US per point lets face it any cheaper and we may aswell be giving the room away. You recieve a written contract outlining the rental agreement and stipulations etc so everyone is clear in regards to the alocation of the points etc and cancelation policy and use of points in case of cancelation. It is pretty painless you call teh renter with your request or e mail them and give them your perspective dates they call down and make the reservation. You will recieve teh reservation confirmation in the mail and if the renter is good about it they will give you teh reservation number when they make teh res for you. Now we used to give out the 800 number for member services so the person renting our points could call and confirm teh reservation but MS will no longer accept calls from anyone but the member and will ask you for your member ID card number and other confirmation info without it they will not even talk to you now.

Hi Sandra,
I would definitely head over the DVC rent/trade board. If you read some of the posts, you will get an idea of what is available and how much points are renting for (looks like $11/point is a pretty common amount).
