Renting DVC Points for Trip - David's vs. DVC Prices

We are planning a mid-November trip with friends and are hoping to rent a 2 bedroom at AKL Kidani. We put in an inquiry with David's but got back a reply stating that there is availability but no points to rent. I inquired with DVC Rental Store and they have availability but the same room is almost $600 more for the same room/dates. It sounds like DVC may have more points available so we may have better luck with them.

I'm curious what the difference is as I can't seem to find it on their sites. I am guessing it's the cancellation policies (or lack of with David's).

I'm also happy to hear from anyone with experience renting with either.

We've stayed at AKL Jambo in the hotel room and loved it and are hoping to share the experience with our friends/our godkids.

DVC Rental Store have been paying owners more and didn't burn as many owners during shutdown, so they may simply have more owners working with them.

Try renting directly from an owner on disboards rent/trade thread!

I had *******.com rent my points. It was very quick... signed up with them and closed a deal the same day. I got may payment a few days later.

There may be more of a demand to rent points than there are owners wanting to rent.

We are using DVC Rental Store for our November trip this year. We’ve used them twice (2015 and 2017), and had great experiences both times at Kidani in a 2BR. Good luck!
