We have a confirmed ****** reservation in November. We have decided not to go because there will not be a Christmas party. What is the best way to rent this reservation out?

How do you know there is no Xmas party? They just announced holloween I feel your a few month to early to assume nothing for Xmas.

Depends on how much effort you are willing to put into the rental.

The easiest is to use one of the brokers -the DVC Rental Store is one of those, and is a Disboards.com sponsor.

You could also choose to rent via the Disboards DVC Rent/Trade Forum, Be sure to read the "Required Reading" thread near the top of that thread before you post there.

There are also other internet forums and sites such as redweek.com or https://tug2.net that could be used to rent your reservation.

Please do not post any specifics of your reservation here (or the Mods will have to delete your thread).

I read a couple of articles last week. If there is anything I feel like it will be like the after hours event they are doing for Halloween. My husband has never been at Christmas. I don’t want his first time to be a partial experience.

You should book in December to make sure all the Christmas decorations etc are in place. November is normally good if after the 15th or so, but this year may be anyone's guess

Are you an owner? Or did you rent this reservation?

If you're an owner you have some more flexibility as you can do other things with the points. If you're a renter then you really only have several options.

If you rent it on the board here, you can't list it until October - within 30 days if I remember correctly of the travel date. I did that last year for a November reservation and it was rented in less than 3 days. The negative is that you have to wait until 30 days and take some risk that it won't be rented out.

If you rent through a broker, a lot of them offer less $/pt for a confirmed reservation. Even if it's for a sold out period and/or high demand period. - They offered $9/pt for my guaranteed Christmas week rental at PVB!

You can also try Facebook, eBay, etc. I haven't had any luck renting my stuff out through those.
