Renting car seats with Alamo

We'll be renting a car while in WDW for a few days and we'll need a booster and a forward facing car seat. Has anyone rented the car seats before from their car rental agency? If so, what kind of shape are they in? ie are they relatively clean? We're going with Alamo because I think they are the ones actually on WDW property.

They always look brand new when you see themin the plastic bags when getting your car.

Personally I would take and have taken our own for allour trips and will continue until we no longer need them. I am used to our own. I put it on the place as a peice of luggage they bag it in clear plastic and we are off.

When we used a car seat from Alamo, it was in great shape. It looked new and was very clean. We used it for just one day though, but I'm pretty sure with Alamo, the cost was $9 per day/per car seat. I'm not sure if they can give you a discount for multiple days, but yikes! that can really add up. When we rent for longer periods, we bring our own. It is a pain, but really cuts down on those extra "hidden" costs.

Have never rented one, we have always taken our own

When we were there last May, it was late night and there was a family with 2 small childred picking up their car for which they had reserved 2 car seats...the company did not have any seats available...as would be expected, they were quite upset. What they ended up doing was the mother stayed with the 2 babies and the father drove somewhere to buy 2 seats and then came back to the airport to pick them up. It was ugly.

The explaination they received was that people can reserve cars with no deposit and they don't show up..so they allow to book more seats than are actually available..just like with different size cars/

I had also read this on another board that this happens.
