Renting @ BLT

I just read from another thread someone's BLT wait-list just cleared so there is hope. The only thing is, most owners will be reluctant to wait-list for their renter because of the outcome uncertainty. There are people selling confirmed DVC reservation here and another owner forum, you may try that route too.

Yes, I'm a BLT owner - I booked at 11 months for a part of my trip, but when I had to add a day - it's already booked and I had to wait list.

The point was that owners were already trying 11, 7 months out. The wait lists are prob long and most of those in the wait list have fallbacks.

OP is NOT even sure yet. He's NOT an owner so he will have to rent. All these lessens his chance of getting a ressie.

I thought hurricane season was a good time to go because crowds are low; if crowds are low then there should be lots of availability right?

Then you should be looking at Aug/Sept. But Orlando is inland and really doesn't get hurricane effects as much as the coastal areas.

And late Sept through early January is probably the busiest time for DVC members with all the activities in the parks.

Another issue that could affect you is cancellation if you purchase a reservation from a member ("rent points"). Most members do not offer any cancellation at all. So you lose whatever you have paid should you need to cancel.
