Renting bikes at HH

Two questions for the price of one:

1. Does anyone know approx. how much it costs to rent bikes at the HH resort?

2. We stayed in a non-dvc condo last yr. and rented bikes from one of the local rental places. They delivered the bikes right to our front door and picked them up at the end of the rental period. Does the DVC resort allow for 'off-site' bike rentals...or do we have to use the 'in-house' service?

I can't remember the cost but we rented last year from HH. They almost didn't have bikes for us to rent -- they literally came in at the last minute before they closed that day. A HH CM gave us the name and number for an off-site company to use so I'm assuming they wouldn't have any problem with you using someone else.

DVC HH gave me the name of Palmetto Bikes and it was $20 per bike. They deliver and pick up. You cannot rent from DVC's activity desk for their bikes.

We had problem with some of our bikes and they even exchanged them or took the bikes back and credited me back. Nice company to work with.

I think the Disney rate is something like $50 for two bikes for your length-of-stay, plus an additional charge for each additional bike. It's less during the slower times (winter), but will probably be the high season price in April.

In the past, the Palmetto Bike Barn has honored the Disney price, if Disney is out of bikes. Don't know if that still holds true. And they do drop them off at the resort and pick them up for you...

That's a good price! I was expecting it to be much higher....guess I was thinking of bike rentals at wdw resorts.
Also good to know that if they're out of bikes, we can get them elsewhere without hassle.

We always pay $80 in total for our bike rentals at HH. We are a family of five. This I think is the DVC rate. It is $50 for the first two bikes and then $10 each for any additional bikes. Our trips are always in March or April.
