My mom has recently had a lot of problems with her knees, and we want to rent an ECV to help ease some of the discomfort/pain from walking everywhere. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a company to rent from. We'd like to have it delivered/picked up at VWL and she'll need it for a week. TIA!! :)

and although it's relatively new to the disboard I was happy with the price-$150 w/o tax for the week. This is hard to beat. It was a very small model, Pride go go elite that was fine for us. The battery lasted all day and it was easy getting it in and out of our room. There's a step up to one called Celebrity, too.

We always use Walkers Mobility for my mom's ECV when we go down there. Highly recommend them!

Thanks for link and all the recommendations. I'm off to see what I can get now. Thanks again!! :)

I have had dealings with Walker, Care, and Randy's. I would do business again, for the right price, with either Walker or Care, but I had a bad experience with Randy's, so they are off my list.

I guess it goes to show you can have a good or bad experience with whomever you go with. I had an excellent experience with Randy's Mobility in December and would recommend them to anybody!

This is my DF and DS on his ECV that we rented from Walker. They were absolutely wonderful! We even wrote a letter of recommendation for them after we returned home.

Good luck with whoever you go with! :)

For any company (whether listed in our disABILITIES FAQs thread or not), you will find some people who have had negative experiences. For all the companies listed there, the majority of people have posted positive experiences over the years. Not at all positive, and as happened on this thread, sometimes one person will report excellent experiences with one company and complaints about another while another person has the opposite experience.
But, in general, there have been more reports of good than bad with those companies and there have been enough posts over the years that I would feel comfortable renting from any.

This picture brings up the need for a reminder - WDW park rules (and the rental contract for most companies) prohibit passengers on an ECV - OK for a picture while sitting still, but not allowed for a moving ECV.

Here's a link to a recent thread about WDW mobility device rules.
