Mom wants to try a scooter at the parks for our visit next month. She just doesn't have the stamina she used to, plus she having serious back pain.
So prepare us for the sticker shock ... What's the cost currently to rent a scooter at each park?

Disney scooters are $50 a day plus a deposit you get back if you read the FAQ at the top of the landing page there is info about off site rentals which are about half the price of Disney

Renting from an off-site place might be better. You don't indicate where you're staying, but many Disney resorts require a lot of walking just to get to your room. If you rent from an off-site place, the scooter will be there when you arrive & you leave it with bell services when you check out & they'll come pick it up. It's great to have access to the scooter at all times. The buses drop guests off, but it's sometimes a long way to the gate & the scooter rental location at each park.

If you want a recommendation, send me a private message.

When renting them is it just for that park that day? So do you have to start the renting process over every morning? Do you rent them at the front of the park where the stroller rentals are? Trying to get some info for my inlaws!

Yes, you have to rent them each day and they are with the strollers. You can bring your receipt from one park over to another park and obtain a scooter ON THE SAME DAY without paying again, if they are available.

Like someone said earlier, Disney rents for $50 a day plus a $30 deposit that you get back when you return the key. If renting outside of Disney for length of stay, it runs about $30 a day. You have to make arrangements to meet the vendor for pick up and return if you don't use one of Disney's preferred vendors. If using a preferred vendor then your scooter will be waiting at BS when you arrive (or the time you choose) and you can return it to BS when you are leaving.

do yourself a HUGE favor and rent off site. cheaper plus you will have the use of it 24/7. the lines at the bus stops can be brutal at the end of the day.

We rented dd's from Buena Vista Scooters and they even met us at Animal Kingdom mid trip to replace it when it started losing power. We called when they opened and they were waiting for us at 9 when we got there. We rented for 8 days but since we will be in the park until mid afternoon today she is going to call this am and see if she can keep it today. It was $194 for the 8 days.

Plus there would be a good chance she'd have to stand on those over crowded buses. With an ECV she'd be guaranteed a seat.

I too say it'd be better to rent offsite (cheaper, she'd have the ECV 24/7, plus the ones rented from offsite are usually smaller and three wheeled so easier to maneuver than the big bulky four wheeled ones you rent onsite). We use Apple Scooters for my mom's. They seem to have the best prices, plus they are one of the preferred venders, so delivery and drop off can be right at bell services. Rental insurance is included for free and we usually pay about $20.00-$24.00 per day. They deliver all over Orlando. We used them when we stayed at AKL last Sept, then again last Oct/Nov when we did a split stay offsite at Westlake Towne Center and RPR over at Universal, then again last May when we stayed at Wyndham Bonnet Creek. We were very pleased each time.
