Just wondering if anyone has any experience of renting a Mustang while over in Orlando. DS is now too old (in his eyes) to join us on our next trip - so it'll just be me and DH. Thought we might have something a bit less sensible to drive. :car:

Anyone recommend a company that rents out Mustangs?

I believe that Dollar Rental Car rents mustangs. I use them when I travel for work and have had good experiences with them.

Cheers!

No experience but I would be interested to hear how you got on :thumbsup2

Apparently we're getting a Mustang as part of our honeymoon package next year (I haven't told my fiancee yet so don't spoil the surprise!) so please let us know how you get on with it!

Hi all

On our first trip we rented from avis and our (my) only request was for a convertable. On arrival we had the choice of a Subaru or a Mustang, so the obvious choice, we took the mustang.

It was bright orange with a black soft-top and very nice indeed to drive.

The boot space is small to non, so our cases spent all their time on the back seat, meaning that we couldn't put the roof back up if we wanted too as there wasn't enough hight for the cases.

The result of this meant we drove from Orlando to Miami in the rain with the roof open, and enjoyed every second.

The Mustang we had was a 3.2 litre v6 (obviously automatic) and I must say in comparrison to my own car (MX6 2.5 litre v6) was not nearly as quick. That said it was a pleasure to drive, we didi MCO to DTD, DTD to Miami, Miami to Key West, back to Miami, then back to DTD and finally back to MCO.

It was a very comfortable drive, turned a few heads on South Beach but not as many as I had hoped, maybe due to the models having photo shoots on harleys, and was a lot of fun along the way.

I was supprised how many Mustangs there are knocking around the orlando area, we noticed even more this year, and a large majority seem to be orange, yellow or black.

If we ever go back on our own as a couple (this year the 10 of us shared two mini-vans - not quite so rock and roll) I would definatly be tempted to go for a 'stang again but be prepared to travel a little lighter with smaller cases.

Hope that some of that is a little help.

If you want to know anymore feel free to give me a shout.

Thanks

Crim
