Renting a lens--need suggestions

I have an Olympus E-510 with the kit 14-42 and 40-150mm lens. With marching band competition season here, I would like to rent a lens to get some good full shots of the entire band on the field (my daughter is the field commander) at Vanderbilt this year.

Would the 12-60mm (2.8) work or would something else be better? I'd love to have a better zoom too, but I really need the wide full band shot to use for senior plaques this year.
