Renting a DVC reservation vs. renting points.

I'm thinking about renting a reservation from a DVC member who has to cancel her trip.

Is this the same as renting points? Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks!

It's the same thing. The Member will put your name on the reservation and controls the reservation. Any changes can only be made by the Member.

I hope it works out. This is the first time we've considered renting points.

The phrase "Renting Points" can be a little confusing since only the member who controls the points is able to do anything with them. In your case, you would be renting a reservation (from a member) made using their DVC points.

The only time you could actually "rent points" is between 2 members and the points will be transferred from one account to the other.
