I'm considering driving from CT and would like to rent a car. I've heard that some rental companies limit your driving range (like just in New England). What about if you do this on Priceline or Hotwire where you're guaranteed unlimited mileage??

Can anyone give me some companies that don't limit you?

I think the quickest place to look is on expedia or travelocity. They usually list four or five car companies for your dates and you can click on the terms to see the rate rules. Many have unlimited mileage, but they limit you to travel in adjacent states. I do not know how priceline covers this.

I've gotten good rates from Hertz and Enterprise both with unlimited mileage. Both times were to drive to FL. Once we got a free upgrade to a Lincoln and the other time we rented a minivan. I think they were in the $480 range with tax.

We just reserved a mini van from Thrifty for our drive from Mass. Strange, Thrifty was the only company in our area that did not put a cap on miles. We tried Avis, Budget, National ,Enterprise, Alamo...they all limit miles on mini vans...wonder why?

Thanks for your responses. I'm going to check with Thrifty.
