Renting a Car in Ft. Lauderdale?????

My husband is flying into Ft.Lauderdale on Sept. 12th. He needs to rent a car to drive to Key West. What's the best rental car company to rent from and the most convenient.

We just came back from 2 weeks in Florida and picked up a car at Ft. Lauderdale and then dropped it off in Orlando. We used Dollar which has a counter right in the terminal, and really didn't have any problems. You do have to take a bus from the terminal to get to your car however. The airport is not set up like Orlando where you can walk across the street and get your car. The cars were located on airport property though, so the ride was not a long one. I think National and Avis had this set up as well. Hertz may have too, I didn't notice their counter on the way to the Dollar Counter.

I also need a car in FLL next month. Does anyone know of any good deals or discount codes to use for a mid or full size car?

With Dollar, try Fish or Entertain. Those seem to have good rates lately.
