Renting a car for the first time (via Expedia) what does "via shuttle" mean?

Hey everyone. So I need to rent a car for the next trip and I'm on Expedia and I see next to the pick-up location "via shuttle" ...does anyone have any idea what this means?

This is exactly what it says:
Los Angeles, CA (LAX) via shuttle
Thu, Dec 11 12:00pm - Mon, Dec 15 11:00pm

There are no rental agencies in the terminals at LAX, they're all reached by shuttles. Unlike other airports, where Expedia probably specifies if it's in terminal or you need to use a shuttle.

There are no rental cars onsite at LAX. When you exit the terminal, there is basically a meridian the you stand on with all your luggage and one by one shuttles arrive for the various car rental agencies. They take you to and from the airport. FYI, we used Dollar last year and it was awful. Their shuttle and location was very run down. They also only seemed to have one shuttle while others had a few in rotation.

So make sure to give yourself that extra bit of time when returning the car. Find the facility, turn in the car while unloading, getting stuff and self and family to the shuttle, loading onto it, riding to the airport. If you're pressed for time, that process can be very very stressful. (trust me on this one)
