I know that back in the day, you could rent a camera or camcorder at Six Flags. Is there anywhere at WDW to do this? I would love to rent a digital camcorder to record my children marching - we don't have one, believe it or not!

Thanks,

KC

On Monday, December 29th, in the afternoon Very Merry Christmas Parade. The 2 high schools from Dublin, Ohio are marching, and my children are in the lead off band, Dublin Scioto (Go Irish!). You'll be able to tell who I am - I'll be wearing my custom made Proud Dublin Scioto Band Mom Shirt, with my kids names, years and instruments embroidered on the back (even my littlest, Jack, is on there - he just started middle school, and no pressure, but Jack Percussion '10 is there on my back <g>).

Come help us cheer them on!

You might want to see about renting before you leave. Not sure where to rent them but there's got to be someplace.

I know years back they did rent them on main street. I remember you were charged for the day so it was best to be there early. Call the park and ask ahead of time, just to make sure. Gina

It is my understanding that the theme parks don't do this anymore.

Disney no longer rents them. You can try hitting the search button on your browser and typing in video camera rental orlando.

There are various electronics stores close to Disney that probably rent cameras. There is one in Crossroads if I'm not mistaken. There are rental companies in the local phone book that rent virtually anything you could possibly need during your trip.

That all said, have you considered just buying an inexpensive camera. I've seen them advertised at Best Buy, Circuit City, etc. for under $200. It may not be the fancy schmancy model with all the doodads, but it will be more than adequate to film your special occasion. If your morals don't get in the way, you could always return it when you get home.

Another choice is to ask around in the family or at work and see if anyone has a camera they'd be willing to lend you. I've lent mine to a coworker several times.

At one of the places I work, we have a running joke phrases such as "Listen to Dave", "What Dave Says", "FutureShop Upgrade Program" and "Costco Rental Program".

The latter means, you buy something from Costco, use it for up to 364 days, and return it.

All local rental stores rent them, Rent A center, Aaron Rents, places like that. The first year we went to Orlando as a family in 2002, I rented a really nice one from Aaron rents for $23 a week, but in 2003 I bought a really nice one. Check your local listing. For a really nice one you could spend about $20-$35 a week. If you need it more than two weeks, you'd do better buying one for a few dollars more.

There is a place on I-Drive that rents them too, but I can't remember the name of place. If my memory serves me right its on the corner of I-Drive and where that huge McDonalds is (its suppose to be the biggest McDonalds in the world.) Across the street meaning that huge busy road, not across the street I-Drive (if that makes any sense.) They sell/rent cameras, film, camcorder, walkie talkies, and even cell phones.

Hope this helps and good Luck with the marching bank and that 10 year old that you NOT putting any pressure on! :teeth:

Have a wonderful Day!!!!:smooth:
