Rented points can I add the Disney Dining Plan

Hello all,

This is our first time renting DVC points so new questions are coming up all the time. We rented directly from a friend who had a home resort at Boardwalk. We had them set up the Magical Express for our flights.

DW and I have been reviewing the ADRs we have and the rest of the QS meals we will have and think the dining plan may be a good deal. We have ARs for 5 of our six nights so we could make one more on a day where we planned QS.

So the question is... Can I go back and ask the DVC owner to add the Dining Plan to our reservation? I know I cannot get free dining but the estimated cost of the Hoop dee do and other ADRs plus all the QS meals will be more than the cost of the DDP.

If I have my friend add the DDP to the reservation is there a timelimit on when it can be done before the trip and can I pay Disney directly or do I have to pay her and have her pay Disney for me?

Only the member you rented from can add the dining plan to the reservation. It must be added at least 2 days prior to your arrival date and it must be paid for in full at the time they add it to the reservation.

Yes you can, she adds, she pays, 48 hours prior to arrival minimum.
