We're going to the world in September. I have a 1 year daughter, and will be bringing our stroller from home for her, but I also have a 6 year old son. He obviously doesn't usually use a stroller, but I think it would be really nice to have one because of the heat and walking. We went to Disneyland last year and since I have a Disney credit card, got the stroller for free. I just found out that it does not count for Disney World:mad: , and they're rentals went up to $13/day-and that's with length of stay! At that rate we'll be dishing out about $100 just for the stroller. Anyone know of any kind of discounts ect.?

someone havd vouchers earlier
anyone know where to get them;)

Not sure if this is an option for you, but if you know anyone you might be able to borrow a double (there is one called the Sit and Stand - allows the baby to sit as usual and the older child to sit/stand in the back) it would save money. Also, if you'd be shelling out the money for a rental, what about searching a garage sale or craigslist for something cheap you could buy to bring along and then sell yourself when you get back home? I know both take legwork and aren't as easy as renting, but they were two alt. thoughts that came to my head.

We went last summer with our grandkids, the youngest was just under 5 at the time. We just planned on renting a stroller only when/if she needed or wanted one. Turned out to be only 2 times over our 10-day visit. Just something to consider.

The stroller rental places in WDW also sell a folding Kolcraft stroller for $45, which is cheaper than $100.

Has anyone ever bought one of these strollers they sell? I have an almost 9 year old with special needs who is about the size of my soon to be 5 year old. He's just a bit over 40 lbs. and 44 inches tall. I'm wondering if this Kolcraft stroller would work for him.

I am hoping to buy a used Maclaren off Craigslist and then resell it on craigslist when I am done.

I'm not sure about the height but I had to buy one of these on our last trip and our daughter (40lbs) fit perfectly. She's a few inches shorter though. I would think it would work out.

I went to Disney when my daughter was 4 and the stroller was the absolute best item we had with us. I highly recommend buying a high quality running stroller before you go. You know the ones with the big wheels. If you order it over the internet you can even have it mailed to Disney for when you arrive. Initially, I was the one saying to buy the cheap $30-$50 stroller. I was oh so wrong. We ended up buying the $150 running variety, despite my huffing and puffing when we forked out the money, it was oh so sweeeeeaaaaat. Yes, I'm big enough to say "I was wrong". I was so happy I was oh so wrong. There is nothing like the minimal effort going up hill and actually holding it back going down hill and on flat surfaces.

For the winter trips you store your jackets and snacks in the storage compartments. The summer trips end up having a cold water/refreshment cart at your service. I was also worried about leaving such a fine ride in the stroller parking lots but, after getting to the parks I had no big worries. Since then, I do not have the stroller but, with my upcoming fall and winter trips to Disney I am again looking into purchasing the same stroller. Yea, my daughter is now 7 and the majority of the time she won't ride in the stroller but, having the hassle free storage for drinks, jackets, bags and stuff vs carrying them around all day is priceless to me. Also, the walk out after Wishes or Illuminations pushing the daughter in the stroller vs carrying will have me all smiles. :)

This is just one person's opinion. Good luck and let us know how your trip goes.

Magicdad---get in on one of the stroller swaps at Disney. They have several of them out there on the Budget thread. We signed up for Feb. for the InStep double jogging. It will save us a ton of money.
