Rental Plan? 30 Day Window?

I’m new to this and curious...Why do we need to purchase a rental plan in order to make a “reservation for rent” post? Who/where does the money go?
Also, why do I have to wait to be in the 30 day window to make the post? I must be missing something...

The purpose of the rent/trade board was a way to allow members of our DiS community a place to rent out reservations when needed,

In order to avoid the plan that requires a fee, one simply has to be a regular contributor to threads over a certain length of time,

In terms of the 30 day rule, the purpose is to allow members who had reservations they could no longer use and if canceled, would force them to end up with holding points because they were already less than 31 days out,

I think it might also cut down on the scammers, which are prevalent on other websites. You don't hear much about scammers here on Disboards. The Moderators and Owners do a great job of managing this website.
