rental p/u at dolphin..shuttle?

we have to pick up our car rental at the dolphin.
we are staying at the swan.
does alamo have a shuttle?
or do we have to make our own way over there??

It's an easy walk or possibly someone at the Swan could take you. It's very close.

It takes about 90 seconds to walk out of the back entrance of the Swan and into the back entrance of the Dolphin.

Don't know that you'd need either a shuttle or an escort from the Swan.

There are no direct shuttles from POFQ to the WDW Dolphin. You could transfer at a theme park or at Downtown Disney.

All the major car rental companies would pick you up at POFQ. Alamo/National would take you to their location at the Car Care Center. The other companies would take you to locations just outside of WDW. For example, Hertz would take you to their WDW/Kissimmee location.

I'm with Horace Horsecollar here: the car care center (also an Alamo/ National site) would be a better choice staying at POFQ, mainly bcs there is a shuttle to come and get you. At the Dolphin site, you would have to make your own way there. I believe the car selection at the care care centre is also better than at the Dolphin.

The Dolphin make the most sense when you are staying in the EPcot area or thereabouts.

Or, you could plan to pick up the car at the Dophin on a day that you'll be at Epcot. It is just a 10 minute walk from the IG to the Dolphin. That's what we did. We planned the rental for our Epcot day, walked over around 3ish (the rental time) did the paperwork, got the keys. Returned to Epcot for dinner and IllumiNations, then walked back to the Dolphin and had the valet guy drive the car around to us...easy as pie.

i have already booked thru a rewards program so i can not change my pick up point-would cost me 25.00 to do so..in that case..it would probably be less than that for a cab from POFQ to Dolphin right?

I would think the bus to MGM then the boat to Swan/Dolphin would be a pretty easy trip. When we're leaving the waterparks mid-day (ie when fewer buses running), we will take either the Boardwalk (where we generally stay) bus or the MGM bus, whichever comes first. The most recent time, we were pressed for time, but the MGM bus to the boat got us there in plenty of time. Easy, breezy.

btw, where are you off to after WDW in the rental car? just curious (or is that nosy?)

No direct shuttle - resort to resort transportation can be tricky.

You can take a bus to MGM and walk or take the boat. If you are going to be at AK or MK that day then just take the bus to the Dolphin from that park. In fact if you care to visit Epcot that day just walk or take the boat to the Dolphin.

If I were leaving directly from POFQ I would probably grab a cab or take the bus to MGM and walk.

we will be remaining on site, but we wanted a car for the last week of our time down there as we plan to go do some shopping, spend a day at BG and one day at IOA. and then we will return the car to the airport so no need to worry about transportation on the last day..
