Any suggestions on rental homes in the Internation Drive area? We'd like to be centrally located to all the theme parks. I've been looking at allstarhomes but they all seem to be specifically close to WDW. We'd be a party of 8 or 10.

Due to the zoning of Short Term Rental licences most of the rental homes are found in the Kissimmee and Davenport areas. Around I-Drive there are some condo resorts and a number of timeshare resorts. If you end up looking in Kissimmee the resorts to the east of the I4 may be slighly more central for all parks.

Here's a couple of maps of the rental areas:

Indian Wells would be closest to the extreme south end of I Drive. It's an older subdivision with mostly full time residents but there are a few rentals. Check out listings on vrbo.com for Kissimmee.
Subdivisions on Poinciana (Cane Island, Windward Cay, Chatham Park etc) would be next closest.
But those in the Formosa Gardens area wouldn't be much different. I - 4 is just a couple of minutes away.

If you are looking at I-Drive area and the other theme parks then I'd suggest staying on the East side of Disney. We stay on Cumbrian Lakes which is off Poinicana Blvd and it takes about 10 mins to Disney, 10 mins to the bottom of I-Drive, 15 mins to Sea World, 20 mins to Universal.

I believe there are other communities off Poinciana Blvd.

Thanks so much! We are leaning more towards Universal and Sea World this trip, but may visit a Disney park or 2. We're still in the early planning stages. I've only stayed in Disney so Im CLUELESS where to stay! We dont' want to rent a house and then find out it's an hour away from everything!

I really appreciate the tips and advice! :thumbsup2

Even if you are out on 27 you are not 1 hour away from any of the parks except Busch Gardens of course.

We stayed at Indian Hills once, really close to wdw and Sea world. If you get the street address you can mapquest it. I've found that helps alot.

Thanks!! Im gonna look up Indian Hills now!!

Ive been looking around on All Star Vacation Homes's website.

Good luck with that. I've never heard tell of Indian Hills but there maybe such a place.
There's Indian Wells which is closest, Indian Point, Indian Ridge, Indian Ridge Oaks and Indian Creek but I've never heard of Indian Hills. :confused3

yeah ... it wasn't listed in there. im sticking with that website - comes highly recommended. oh well...

We stayed at Windsor Palms, which is right next to Indian Creek. We were about five minutes from Animal Kingdom (using the Sherberth Road shortcut). We had to pass Indian Creek's main entrance to get to the entrance of Windsor Palms off Formosa Gardens Boulevard. Windsor Palms is a gated community.

If you don't plan to rent directly from the owners another good rental website is www.floridasunvacationhomes.com
They have gotten very good reviews here on the DIS.
Windsor Hills is a very nice subdivision. We've stayed there 3 times and love it. It's all according to what you want. Windsor Hills and Palms and Emerald Island all have clubhouse and community facilities. Formosa Gardens Estates, Rolling Hills, Indian Creek (playground) and some of the others don't. :)
