Not sure where this should be posted. Moderators - if another forum, please redirect. Wanted to come down for two months to explore the area for purchase (been looking for over a year and have made offers but significantly out bid). Can anyone give me advise on a source of rental homes? I have a large dog and that has been the biggest negative. So far only two communities = Encore Resorts in Reunion and Margaritaville (which I simply don't like the looks of - sorry) allow them but the homes are running 10K - 13K minimum per month in Encore. Wanted to see if there is something I'm overlooking besides VRBO types of sites.
PS it's just DW me and the dog.

Lots of help HERE on the Orlando Hotels & Attractions board - other people doing the same thing you are!

Probably not. Actual rental homes that aren't vacation homes will typically require a long-term lease. Most won't do it for just two months.

But I did a search on VRBO for Orlando, FL, 2 guests + pet and came up with a lot of options, some are smaller type units (one bedroom so it really looks more like a condo/hotel room type option) but it doesn't seem too bad at around $6K for 2 months (from August 1 check-in to October 1 check-out). I didn't click all the way through to see if there were any additional fees.

Here is what I found (looks like a condo/hotel room):
https://www.vrbo.com/2173905?adults...re=2021-10-01&petIncluded=true&unitId=2738441
Townhome for $8K for 2 months:

House for $12K for 2 months:

I think Windsor Hills is an area that many people get vacation homes for about $200/night.

Like the previous posters I did a quick VRBO search including pets in Davenport, FL which has a lot of short term rentals. I founds hundreds of listings, though many at the higher end of cost given that many were larger homes. Another difficulty might be to find one with 2 months of availability. 2-4 weeks is the typical stay. Though for a 2 month rental you might be able to negotiate a lower cost per night. There are a lot of possibilities out there. Good luck with your search!
