Rental home hot tubs

Is it a law there that home hot tubs must be drained and sanitized between renters? We have a rental in the Smoky Mountains and they must be drained and cleaned by law in that area.

I don't know about the law, but I'd definitely test your water. We had two cases when we we rented large cabins near Gatlinburg and one we tested had almost no chemicals in it, and the other one was so high that it probably would have burned off your skin. I don't even use rental hot tubs because of this.
