Rental Cars

We will be staying on disney propery for four days. Would like to rent a car for one of those days. The two locations I want to rent a car from are - the car care centre at the Magic Kingdom or the Dolphin hotel. My questions are; do you have to be a guest at the Dolphin to use this service? Does the Disney bus drop you off at the the car care centre on its way to the Magic Kingdom and how do you get back to your Disney hotel when you return the car?

No you do not have to be staying at the Dolphin to use their rental counter....both Dolphin and Car Center are National/Alamo so you do have to rent through them.

There is no bus service to the Car Center, howvever they will send a shuttle to pick you up if you are staying on site and will return you to your hotel after dropping the car off if you use the car center...if you use the Dolphin I believe you are on your own for transportation to them (no problem, just hop a disney bus from any of the parks to the Swan/Dolphin).

I have read that the Care Center desk will also drop you off at one of the parks instead of your hotel if you prefer after returning your rental....have no first hand experience with this however.

Before you choose your pick-up/drop-off locations, be sure to check on the operational times of the rental desk at both the Car Care Center and the Dolphin. The Car Care Center has much longer hours, and a larger fleet of cars from which to choose. If you rent from the Dolphin you will need to get there on your own. You can arrange for complimentary transportation to/from the CCC at your Disney resort, but it's recommended that you make the arrangements for this the day before it's actually needed.
