What is the consensus on how to go about getting the best deal for a minivan? Book online vs. telephone? AAA? It seems that this could become a career... researching all the rates, the companies, online vs. 1-800, travel agents, etc. Any helpful hints???

We plan to rent a rental van and drive it between Charlotte NC and Port Canaveral for our cruise in January. Any thoughts would be much appreciated!

Oh yes, getting the best rental car rate can be time consuming! But, it pays off. I have found that you almost always get a better rate on the internet. Mousesavers has great tips for FL, but http://www.rentalcodes.com/ will have codes available throughout the country.
