I am so excited! When I went to book our airfare for our cruise this summer, I noticed that if we flew down on Friday our airfare would be about $500 more than if we flew down on the Tuesday before. So I figured that we could just add 4 days to our vacation for the same cost. :thumbsup2

This first portion of the trip will be just me and my 2 girls. I think we are going to have a blast. Found a great rate on here at the Sheraton Vistana Resort for $99 per night! I need to keep the costs as low as possible for this part of the vacation since the cruise + excursions will be $$$.

So my plan is to take full advantage of this resort to save money. We won't be visiting any parks, but will probably go to the Boardwalk area. Are there any other low cost / free things to do in Orlando that would interest two tween girls?

My main reason for posting though is to find out what the best strategy is for transportation to Cape Canaveral. We will probably rent a car, but I am finding that it is more expensive to rent and return to a different location. I am wondering if it would be better to just return to MCO the morning of our cruise and then hire a car service to take us to the port? Where is a good place to find out how much it is to hire car service?

We used Tiffany Towncar the last time in Orlando and they pick you up at your hotel. That was a few years ago but they were friendly and professional. I've heard others talk about other car services they like so I'm sure you'll get more replies and choices.

Have a fun trip!

Yes, use a car service. I am not sure why you want to go to MCO and then be picked up though?

I will probably be renting a car for the few days in Orlando and will need to return it there.

I had this same issue. Depending on the locations the cost for us was a $500 price jump just to rent at one place and return at another. From what they told me it is because they then have to pay a third party company or someone on there staff to go get the car and bring it back to the original pick-up place.

Makes no sense to me....if U-Haul can do it why cant car rentals :confused3

But that is how they make there money.
