rental cars at dolphin/swan

Can anyone tell me which car rental companies have a drop off point at the dolphin or swan hotels?

It is National and it is very easy and fast to drop off or too pick up

I f you have any questions Please feel free to e-mail me ok We have done this alot at this location Find it alot better then using Mears transportation. We rent it for a day then drop it off then pick it up the last day and drive back to the airport and the great thing is they are located in the airport. And we have the freedom to stop on oour way to the hotel for some wine and snacks to use in the room. And the return we leave when we want to not 3 hours or more for there convience we get more time either at the pool or in the park. Hope this ans some of your questions and remember to use your codes for national ok

Hi,

Is it only in the Dolphin/Swan resorts, or can you pick-up drop-off if you're staying in the area, say, at the Boardwalk Villas?
I'm not too familiar with the proximity, but it looks close, so I was wondering if anyone has tried this?

You can use this rental location from any hotel in the area. My husband and I rented there in April to spend a few days at Universal. He took a bus from OKW to pick up the car,and also walked to BWV when he dropped the car off when we were done. It was very convenient.

We generally stay in the Epcot resorts-the furthest walk is about 10 mins to Dolphin. The National/Alamo desks are across from the Dolphin's guest services area. We rent there everytime. Very convenient, pickup your tag and keys from the desk and the Dolphin valets bring your car to the door for you-same with drop off. Valets take your keys, check over the car and run the tag and key back up to the desk where they will print your receipt.

Thanks Maryjane1 and mom_rules - I am flying into Orlando, then driving to visit my mother near Tampa for a few days, then driving back to pick up friends at the Orlando airport. We are staying at BCV. I usually take a limo from the airport but thought I could take advantage of the drop off on-site.

I'm trying to figure out the most cost effective and convenient way to get to Tampa area as well as BCV and then back to the airport. I hadn't thought of a 1 day rental - brilliant! Thanks again – Barrie

You can rent at the Orlando airport, then drop off at the Dolphin? Then you can rent again to go to the airport and leave the car at the rental place there?
Sounds too good to be true!
We are talking about a split 2 day rental over a 2 week stay????
If this is right, then my next question is, how confusing is it to drive around Orlando (Airport>WDW>Airport), or from resort to resort?

Well - here's what I have learned...

The cheapest and easiest way seems to be to rent with Budget 12/15-18 to go to the Tampa area and back to the airport and then take the round trip limo from the airport to BCV and back.

Budget's rate is $77.54 for 12/15-12/18 and they also give me SWA Rapid Rewards points. The limo is just $90 round trip. Together that's a better price than I was able to get at either National or Alamo, even with promo codes/coupons.

I like the idea of being able to drop off at the hotel, but it just didn't pan out. Thought I'd share what I found out to save someone else the research time down the road. Thanks for the info everyone shared with me! Barrie

I have rented from National at the Orlando airport before visiting my mom in Cocoa, then dropped off the car at the Dolphin, and it really was convenient. For my trip next month, I'll rent from Alamo at the Dolphin, visit my mom in Cocoa, then drop off the car at the airport. In case anyone is wondering...I take Mears one way and rent the other way, rather than hang onto a rental car for a week or more.

Just rented from National at the Dolphin last Friday and got a brand new Chevy Venture (only 50 miles!).

The employee at the counter was very nice and the valet at the Dolphin pulls the car out front for you to pick up. We drove the car back Wednesday and turned it into the airport. We took a limo as a treat to the Boardwalk Villas and then walked to the Dolphin later that day for car rental. Total for five days was $266.00 with Disney Visa special. Did not have to pay with Disney card or even show it. (Go figure!)

Having to load up a minivan with luggage for seven people on only one leg of the trip...Priceless!

Yes we did tip them they are bringing you the car It is worth it not having to go and find the car in a lot full of cars.

Is renting a car for the day coming to WDW and for the day returning to the airport cheaper than say a towncar rental?
