Rental cars and love bugs

Does anyone know if they will charge you for any damage that might happen to the cars paint by these bugs? I will be traveling next week and it looks like these may be out. I will be using Alamo. Thanks

We were there with a rental car a few years ago and it looked terrible when we took it back but nothing was said.
