Rental Car - Where & When to Start Looking

We've always relied on WDW transportation & Limo services for our transportation needs in the past, but for our next trip we are considering renting a car because we will be going to WDW & UO. To help me budget, I wanted to get an estimate of what a rental car (room for 5) might cost for 10 days. Where should I start? Also - do you think a rental car is the best option or would a limo service be better? We'll be arriving at Orlando airport (MCO) & will be staying 7 nights at WDW & 2 nights at UO.
