I received so much good info from everyone here about my airfare, which I booked this morning, and thank you again.

Now I am on to the rental car. We have always had a car. We like to drive to DTD, other resorts for meals and sometimes we will even drive to a park instead of taking the bus, just depends on our mood.

I thought about trying one of the towncar service this time. I looked at FL Tours and saw it was $105.00 round trip. I assume we would tip 20% each trip, therefore making the cost of that $147.00.

I was looking at Dollar's site today, that is who we have always rented our cars from, and found a midsize car for roughly $156.00 with the tax and surcharge (minus fees for gas).

I am thinking the rental car is again, the choice for us. Is that normally the amount most pay for the towncar service or am I way off? Plus, I have read that while most have good service, on occasion, they are left stranded waiting for the service to pick up.

Can I get any thoughts on this? Thank you!! :) :)

We rented a car. I have done town car in the past, but by the time you compare the prices , it just makes more sense to rent a car, and you have it the whole time.

We too just faced the same question and decided to go ahead and rent a car. What I'm wondering now is whether we will be charged a parking fee to park it all week at our resort? (We're staying at POR 2/13 - 2/18). Can anyone answer this for me?

TIA,

Parking at the parks and your resort is free for all resort guests. You will get a parking pass when you checkin.

I had thought I'd heard that but wasn't sure. Thanks for taking the time to reply and help me out!

*************

You would tip on the total, each way, or just the portion for the trip? The tip would be $10.50 each way if you tip 20%, for a total of $21 or $126.00.

Wouldn't you tip each way? What if you don't get the same driver both ways?

I went throught the same thing when we went. If you look at your pricing, it costs $147 for a town car. Looking at rental sites, you could easily get a midsize car for that, or if like us, you plan to go to US, after figuring in shuttles to and from there for two days, it came to something like $220, and my minivan rental was $217 with all taxes, etc. for 7 days.

DMRick is right $105 is for RT (so each leg is 52.50*.20=10.50) That way if you get 2 different drivers they each get their tip on their share...not 2 rt's. your total for town car should be $126.
