Rental car: Tampa to CSR (?CSR dropoff)

We will need to pick up a rental car at either MCO or TPA and then drive to inlaws. We will then use the car to drive back to CSR. Where is best drop off at CSR after we drop off bags adn check in. Will use ME on our return to the airport.

If you rent from National or Alamo, you can drop the car off at the Dolphin. Alamo/National is within the grounds of the airport at TPA, but you need to take a shuttle to get to it.

After dropping the car off at the Dolphin, you can walk to either Epcot or MGM.

You can also drop your Alamo or National car off at the Disney Car Care Center. This is what we do whenever we fly into Tampa and what we used to do before they had ME. It is very easy and is close to the TTC. They have a shuttle that will bring you to your hotel or TTC.

Is it best to drive up from Tampa directly to TTC and then use their shuttle (with your luggage) -- or -- do you find it easier to drive directly from Tampa area to CSR, unload and check in and then drive to TTC. Which is more time efficient? How long of a drive is it from TTC to CSR?

You first need to check that National will still allow you to drop off at the car care center. It is my understanding that they have closed the National part, and still just have Alamo.

If I were doing it, I would go to CSR, and check in, handle the luggage to the room, then take the car to the Car Care Center (not the same place as the Transportation and Ticket Center, but very near there). Then take the shuttle back to your hotel--they run periodically--you may want to check how often and time your drop-off that way.

Alamo/National are offsite at TPA and onsite at MCO. I would reccommend dropping at either WDW station (Car Care Center/Dolphin) as this is the easiest means. Also, check with Hertz (drop at Shades of Green), Dollar (drop at Grosvener) or Avis (drop at Hilton) as these are all viable options also. Hertz, Dollar and Avis are all onsite at both MCO and TPA....
