Rental Car Reservations

Can anyone tell me...

If I reserve a car through Alamo and need to change the dates, is there a charge/fee? We are not sure what dates we will be going to Orlando foresure, and I would really hate to have to pay more and miss out on a great price for a SUV.

I'm not sure 100% so I hope someone else will chime in but I have a reservation with Alamo for February and I have changed the times of my reservations several times because Delta keeps changing our flights. As of the last change I made I am down $50 but I lost some time in WDW. I didn't do a new reservation though because I couldn't get the original codes to work so I just went in and modified the original reservation. Anyone else?

We rent cars a lot and have never been charged change fee and believe me we change them. I don't think you need to worry about it.

We have a car reserved through Thrifty for Christmas time. Our airline bumped our flight up by 5-6 hours. When I called to change the pick-up time (pick up same day, did not add any extra days as we were to be returning it early) I was told they would change my reservation for the entire 11 day rental period to reflect the current rates. It would have been approx. $100 more. I left it as is in case the flight time changes again.

Most of the car rental sites now have it so you can modify your reservation online and see what the old and the new price will be...and you can decide. I do think the closer you are to you arrival the more likely you will be charged a fee.
